It's The Ugly Reality About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all its upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a popular measurement of power and can be seen on all item tooltips. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the level of an item. It's an indicator of the damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item's level.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory suggests that the item level is calculated using formulas that determine how valuable an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzards actual item level.
This isn't the only factor that affects the level of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times, at higher costs.
Another method to alter the stats on an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by adding a name.
At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to increase. Similar to base equipment, it must be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade item s. It merely gives players a possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in early game runs than in later ones, because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. item upgrading can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Moreover there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it is not successful.
The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.
The performance of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. Every item has a base success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional five percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
