Five Things Everybody Gets Wrong About Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example the perfect broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons can also alter the stats of the base. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative consequences. In the case of items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them can render them useless unless you get a lucky roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to boost their performance. This can boost the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to traverse difficult terrains. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has the more value you will get from every point of health therefore it is important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the fountain in question, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a few friends.

You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potions you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can choose the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item. The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. In  upgrade item , a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a function but isn't particularly significant such as a tiny thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying new ones. One can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as older one, and come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Once the old Trinkets have become no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that they won't replace soon (for instance rings or cloaks). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players should also take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
